Jorvik Star Issue 16: September Recap

 ☆ Jorvik Star ☆

Issue 16 ☆ September

A Note From the Editor...

Welcome to the September issue of the Jorvik Star! I've been a little behind on posting as I've been super busy and also haven't been feeling well, but I'm going to try to get back into blogging now!
In this issue we'll summarize September's updates.

The American Paint Horse

The Generation 3 American Paint Horse has arrived in Jorvik.
☆The APH enjoys roaming freely together with its rider with nothing else before them but inviting grassy plains and the backdrop of a snowcapped mountain range.
☆It shares a close ancestry with other popular North American breeds like the American Quarter horse and the American Thoroughbred. Therefore, it shares their long history of aiding humans in shaping North America into the land it is today.
☆The APH is strong, easygoing and intelligent, making them a fun and rewarding breed to train. They're often sought out for Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing, and other Western events; but they can even thrive in other  areas such as English Pleasure, Equitation, and Show Jumping.

Where you'll find them: The Riding Hall and one in Fort Pinta.
Pricing: 850 SC
What level: You'll have to be level 7 to get them all except for the one in Fort Pinta
Colors: Dark Bay Tobiano, Black Tobiano, Buckskin Overo, Chestnut Overo, Dapple Tobiano, and Grullo Tobiano
*The APH has several mane styles available: a long, wild, and silky mane style; two braided mane styles; a short mane style; a mohawk; and Dressage braids.
**The Generation 3 American Paint Horse has two special movements that the American Quarter Horse also has: the Reining Spin and the Reining Slide Stop.

New Western Tack

Some new colors for Western Tack, including halters; blankets; boots; and saddles have arrived to the Global Store and the Tack shop at Starshine Ranch.

Star Stable Online's 10th Birthday

Star Stable Online recently celebrated their 10th birthday. There was a party set up in Moorland with shops, birthday cake for you and your horse, and some fun photo op backgrounds. There was also trivia trails for prizes and free tours of many areas of Jorvik. SSO also released the free player created birthday horse, a very beautiful Jorvik Wild Horse.

Steve's Farm Revamp

Steve's farm got a makeover in September. A fresh coat of paint, a feed shop, new paddocks, and even a Dressage paddock was added, as well as lots of fun decorations and details made the makeover amazing.

Issue 15 ☆ July & August

A Note From The Editor...

Welcome to the July & August issue of the Jorvik Star! In this issue we cover everything from new horses to returning favorites to fun events. I was super busy at the end of summer so this will be a recap of the two months I missed.
**Oct. Edit: Didn't realize this was accidentally posted unfinished! It's now complete and updated**

The Perfect Percheron Horses...

In the beginning of July the Generation 3 Percheron horse was welcomed to Jorvik.

Colors: Light Gray, Dapple Gray, Dark Dapple Gray, Black, Chestnut and Bay.
*The Percheron has two mane styles available - a long mane or braided loops.
**The Percheron has a special move called the Moose Walk. It was trained by Jorvik Rangers to do the Moose walk to help it traverse marshy terrain. While at a walk, hold the shift key while asking the horse to go faster.

New Baroque Tack

The baroque tack has new versions of the bridles added without the horn. They currently only fit the Gen 3 Finn Horse, Gotland Pony, Friesian, Arabian, and Percheron.

New Quests with Maya Dew...

A new quest was added to help Maya Dew find her own horse companion. You'll learn about Maya's ancestral home, learn some of her family history, and shed some light on the mysterious Unfortunate Dews Farm.

The Tellina and Kampos have Returned!

The seahorses Tellina and Kampos came back to Jorvik until September 1st.
Pricing: 850 SC
Kampos is a calming horse who's the perfect partner for a skittish rider. They are resolute to a fault though - you'll never meet a horse as stubborn as the Kampos.
☆Tellina shimmers like a pearl and loves all things shiny. Their sharp eyesight is a big help when looking for treasures, but while always looking for new, sparkly things, they are also very easily distracted.
Along with Tellina and Kampos, the Panda Rays returned to Jorvik, the Pearly Panda Ray and the Shimmery Panda Ray. You could adopt one for 400 SC.

Jorvik Stables Open House

The Annual Jorvik Stables Open House returned to Jorvik.
☆The beautiful open house Dressage arena returned to the paddock beside Jorvik Stables.
☆Three races were available, one Show Jumping and two Cross Country races.
☆Seven lovely limited time horses were available for adoption. Three grey Gen 2 Lipizzaners for 949 SC each; Two Gen 3 Lusitanos, one fleabitten grey and one liver Chestnut, for 949 SC each; a Gen 3 Buckskin Andalusian for 950 SC; and a Gen 3 black rabicano Arabian for 950 SC.
☆The Open House shop opened with two new colors for the Baroque sets available.
☆Hugh the vet-vet returned to make your horse happy - one horse once per day.
☆The Petting Zoo returned.

Linda's Show Jumping and Red String Trail Ride.

Linda came to Moorland for two weeks with her Show Jumping race. And the following week, the Annual Red String Trail Ride returned.

Dragon Horses and Flying Wyvern Pets

Two new magic horses - the Dragon horses - Faramawr and Aldrach arrived to Jorvik.
Price: 950 SC
☆Faramawr the Green dragon horse embodies prosperity and life thriving after disaster, like the fertile soil and new islands formed in the wake of volcanic eruption. They also represent the precious minerals and jewels born of fire. This is a proud beast who requires hard work and patience. But if you rise to the challenge and persist you will be rewarded with a trusted and devoted friend.
☆Aldrach the Red dragon horse is the embodiment of nature's destructive but necessary forces, such as volcanic eruptions. To see the crimson scales of Aldrach is a warning of oncoming disaster, but you will grow stronger if you can pass through the fire. They Fe passionate, as difficult to control as a volcano, but the rider who perseveres will be richly rewarded with a lifelong companion and a new inner strength.
Along with the dragon horses came their companion pets, Wyverns, Happandi and Kolandi, for 400 SC each.

I was able to adopt one, and chose the Faramawr, named Nacho. I really like the horse and hope they return someday so I can get Aldrach too.

A Horses of Jorvik Race on a Frozen Lake

Guillermo Gadea from Horses of Jorvik returned with a limited time new race in Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur. The race is only for the Friesian/Sport Friesian, Clydesdale, Fjord, Faramawr and Aldrach, Petra and Erinys, or Woodear and Pepita.

New Riding Hall Space for Clubs

Clubs officially now have their own riding arena in Silverglade. Head to where you'd enter your clubhouse and you'll find the club arena there too! It's a big, beautiful club riding hall.
At the arena you'll find:
☆Boards to chose preplaced props - one with Show Jumping and two Working Equitation and an exclusive to the club arena board with Western Trail, Pole Bending, and Barrels.
☆Stands to sit and watch.
☆A dj area where you can choose from Star Stable music to play.
☆A cafe area with tables.
☆Access to storage, so everyone can change their outfit and tack there.
☆A horse mane styling station, so manes can be braided right at the arena.

That's all for the summer recap!

 ☆Jorvik Star☆

Issue 14 ☆ June

A Note From the Editor...

Welcome to the June issue of the Jorvik Star! This month brought some BIG updates to the game that I'm super excited about. Here's the scoop on this month's updates!
-Ruby Skywalker ♡

500th Update: Ayla and Umbra Have Returned to Jorvik.

For Star Stable's 500th Update, the Ayla and Umbra magic horses as well as their Lunar Pet Companions returned to Jorvik.

The Rainbow Festival

It's once again time to hop aboard Mica Stoneground's hot air balloon to the Cloud Kingdom! There you can:
☆Do the challenging and fun Rainbow Race
Buy Mica's Adventure Outfit, and some fabulous Rainbow clothing and tack!
☆Jump on fluffy clouds. Just jump onto a small cloud to try it!
☆Collect gold horseshoes for a horse xp boost.
☆Have a picnic in the clouds with your friends!

Mica left Jorvik onto another Adventure, however I still wanted to mention something I think is awesome that SSO did.

The Rainbow Parade & New Flag Bow Horse Decorations

The Bobcat Girls have been known to throw a parade once in a while, and this year they did their first Rainbow Pride Parade from Moorland to Fort Pinta Beach! SSO also added new bows in the shop in the Cloud Kingdom designed after different LGBTQIA+ flags. I'm super excited to see SSO decide to make the annual Rainbow Festival be a way to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community and seeing more diversity and inclusion in the game. I do however wish the new boss were always in the game to purchase and not just a seasonal item.
❤๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ–ค

Silverglade Village Makeover Update

The little village of Silverglade got a major revamp. Here's everything you need to know:
☆The layout changed making room for new activities and events in the future, including a new spacious village square and a roomier location for Big Bonny to tinker with her projects.
☆The town Tailor moved to a house on the outskirts of the village
☆Lance is no longer sitting on a barrel. Instead you'll find him sitting by a tree, at Starshine Ranch, dreaming about life and love.
☆The Clock Tower has been made bigger and the road between Moorland and Silverglade Village is clearer now, making getting to Silverglade easier.
☆There's now an inn, Silverglade Village Inn, open in case you need to stay the night for some reason.

Midsummer Celebration

The Midsummer festivities are here until July 7th!
☆Help Jorvik Ranger Stanislav with the Midsummer Pole so everyone can celebrate around it by doing the Frog dance!
☆Help Jorvik Ranger Ashley safely prepare the bonfire to meet all safety requirements of course.
☆Help Jorvik Ranger Dylan prepare the feast.
☆Perform on the stage with your friends or have a picnic.
☆Purchase fun clothing and tack including wreaths for you and your horse in the Midsummer Shop.
☆Visit the special flower tent to find out your special someone in your dreams.

Riding Club Updates

The riding club system got a new update. The pop-up window is redesigned and you can now set permissions for each rank, such as adding/removing members, changing ranks, editing the info/rules/calendar.
Plus you can now mail your club much easier. There's a mail system in the club tab now and you can choose what ranks to send it to.

There's also been an update where you click the new mail icon to view new unread mail anywhere in Jorvik.

Smaller Updates

No More Automatic Horse Slowdown...

Your horse will no longer slow it's speed after a certain amount of time.

"E" Interaction Key

Now you can press the "E" key to interact with objects ingame! This makes picking up recyclables and harvestables while on the move so much easier! You can disable the hovering E icon in your settings if it gets annoying and the E key will still work.

Running Mount

You can now begin to control your horse as you mount it, saving precious seconds on your adventures.

Paddock Props

You can now click a bulletin board at Moorland Paddock to set it up three different ways, and combining it with the visibility options to see only your club or group makes it perfect for riding clubs or roleplays!
There's a cavaletti option with low obstacles and poles, poles and cones placed in a pattern, and show jumping obstacles. If you ride far enough away the paddock wi reset to empty.

Magic Horse Toggle Update

There's now a toggle to view both coats on the horse buying window. Now you can see both coats before making the purchase!

The beginning of the month brought the arrival of the Generation 3 Arabians. They are one of the most renowned and striking horse breeds in the world with a distinct history and origins. Here's some fun facts about the Arabians.
☆Bred for endurance in harsh desert climates, the Arabian is small, almost dainty, in structure with a distinctive head and high-set tail.
☆Modern-day Arabians can be found all around the world.
☆They excel in a variety of disciplines, such as racing and show jumping, but they are particularly good at competitive trail and endurance riding due to their superior stamina.

Jorvik Star Issue 12: March

 ★Jorvik Star★

Issue 12 ★ March

A Note From the Editor...

Welcome to the March issue of the Jorvik Star! We've got everything you need to know about March's updates, from Magical Horses to more fun in Wild Woods!
I'm hoping to introduce a fashion finds section for certain seasons, checking out the shops of Jorvik to find perfect clothes, accessories and tack for the season! For now, here's what's new, and Happy Spring everyone!
-Ruby Skywalker ♥

New Magical Horses and My Review

Gary Goldtooth returned to Jorvik this month with two new Magical Horses, Erinys and Petra. These two new types of Magical Horses were introduced to Jorvik from ancient runestones being imbued with life, transforming the runestones and producing Magical Horses. However these two have their differences, but have one thing in common - they're both drawn to the Wild Woods, where Jorvik's primal magical energies are the strongest.

Here's some fun facts about Petra and Erinys
★Petra's hoofsteps can make the ground tremble, but since they're a gentle soul, they don't want you to see the world destroyed by their thundering hooves. Because of this, you'll likely find them standing still as a statue among nature, allowing vines and flowers to grow on their back. This relaxed attitude makes the Petra an easy-going riding partner, happy to meander trails and stop to munch on moss.

★Sometimes dark forces can corrupt the sacred runestones, causing them to crumble. It is from these that the Erinys was born. The Erinys' fierce and tireless nature makes them a dedicated riding partner, always eager to push their limits and become stronger and faster. Born in shadow, Erinys hopes to one day be welcomed back into the earth from which it sprung. Perhaps by bonding with this tragic steed, you can help it come a few steps closer to redemption.

These two Magical Horses were found by Jasper's old farm and cost 750 SC. They are also cold-resistant breeds.

You could also get a matching Magical Bunny friend to accompany you and your new horse - either a Happy-go-lucky Bunny to accompany Petra or a Bunny of Darkness to accompany Erinys - for 400 SC each.
These left Jorvik on the 24th, but I'll do a small review anyway in case they make a comeback someday.

I ended up getting Erinys and the Bunny of Darkness to go with it. I liked the looks of it better than the other one, plus it's a very mysterious looking horse.

Magical Coat Update

Recently SSO added the ability to toggle between the normal and magical coat of Magical horses. I love this new feature and think it will be great for roleplayers and movie makers, taking pics, or even simply if you only like one coat. You are however not able to switch during a race. To switch, open your horse info sheet where you find your horse's mood and stats and click on the button in the top left. Your horse's coat will go back to normal when you log out.

Pistachio's New Race

A new race was added in TailTop Village in North Wild Woods. Once you've unlocked North Wild Woods and completed the quests, talk to Pistachio the squirrel to help them gather flowers and mushrooms for the marketplace in a orienteering style race. You'll be able to do it daily - so be sure to add it to your training route if you head that way.

Fun Quiz from SSO: What Wild Woods Herd are you?

Star Stable recently put out a quiz to find out if your a Warrior, Mystic or Forester. Despite leaning towards the Mystics, the quiz said I'm a Forester! Try the quiz out yourself ★HERE★ and find out which herd you should choose!

Gary Goldtooth's New Look & Quest

Gary Goldtooth got a newly updated look, and with it came a new quest. You'll get to learn more about Gary through the quest. and go on a little adventure.
To start this quest you must be a Star Rider, unlocked the new area of Wild Woods, and have completed the quest where you meet the herds.

Another race with Pistachio

Another race was added involving catching butterflies. The race gives you reputation with the Foresters.

New Mane and Tail Feathers

Some pretty new feathers for your horse's mane and tail were added to all three of the shops in Tailtop Village.

Horses Moving

SSO recently moved some of the horses to buy to new locations. Here's a quick summary.
★Previously in Dundull and Paddock Island, the Connemara Ponies have been moved to Birk's Grange in Mistfall, with the exception of one in Fort Pinta.
★Previously in both Dundull and Paddock Island, the Clydesdales are now just in Dundull, except the one in Fort Pinta and one on the Horses app.
★On Paddock Island, the Shire horses have been moved to the lower stable on the island behind Dorith's house, except the one at the Horse Market and one in New Hillcrest.
★Previously in Valedale and Firgrove, the North Swedish Horses are now found in Dundull, except for one in Fort Pinta and one on the Horses App.
★Previously in both Valedale and Dundull, the Fjord horses are now only in Valedale, except the one in Fort Pinta.
★Previously in Dundull and Marley's farm, all Mustangs are found in Birk's Grange, except the three on the Horses App.
★Previously in Dundull, the  Hanoverian and two Jorvik Warmbloods are now at Steve's Farm.

Jorvik Star Issue 13: April

 ★Jorvik Star★

Issue 13 ★ April

A Note From the Editor...

Welcome to the April issue of the Jorvik Star. We've got the details on April's updates, from new horses to new tack! I also have my honest opinions on some topics going around the SSO community, which I'll be adding in here first. Happy Spring everyone!
-Ruby Skywalker ♥

No April Fools Day? My honest thoughts on this on more.

March and April have been months where the SSO community has started talking about some pretty important topics.
Firstly, there was no April Fools day joke this year. I logged on on April first this year expecting to come on to something crazy and to my disappointment there was nothing. Nothing had changed. After some talk in global, I was told that SSO had mentioned about this on their social media. I don't use social media myself so I didn't know, but I did go to their Facebook long enough to see where it was mentioned.
Apparently, SSO decided not to do April Fools day this year because it's too much work for an update that lasts one day.
They also no longer do Easter, Valentine's/Galentine's day, St Patrick's aka Fortuna, and Christmas is basically called the Winter Holiday or something. Apparently they are switching to doing Jorvik holidays.
Being someone who's played SSO a while, I'd begun to look forward to crazy updates for April Fools day, golden egg hunting, Valentine's races with friends, and even the Leprechaun with the gold event from last year. Now we get no spring holiday celebration at all. I get that not everyone celebrates every holiday, but people would still enjoy the events, especially people who've played a while and become used to the yearly events. I am hoping this means more fun events will come to Jorvik soon, but it definitely won't be the same.

Welcome the Finnhorses.

A few weeks ago Star Stable welcomed the Finnhorses to Jorvik! Here's what we know about them!
★The Finnhorse has a very special history intertwined with the history of Finnland. In order to adapt to the changing lives and needs of the Finnish people, the Finnhorse had to develop unique skills that are now categorized into four disciplines: Riding, Draught, Trotter and Pony Type.
★The Finnhorse is suitable for many forms of riding, from Cross Country to Hacking to Everyday riding and use in Riding Schools.
★The Finnhorses are so appreciated by the Finns that they even have their own race, the Summer Trotting Championship " Kuninkuusravit".

Where you'll find them: They're sold in Firgrove except for one that will be in Fort Pinta for a limited time then moved to Firgrove with the rest!
Pricing: 850 SC
What Level: Everyone can get the one in Fort Pinta, the rest you'll need to reach level 6.
Colors:: Flaxen Chestnut, Liver Chestnut, Red Chestnut, Light Chestnut, Palomino, Dapple Grey and Black.
*The Finnhorse has two mane styles available: a long mane and a Roached mane. The Finnhorse will also lie down when you press the spacebar while standing still.*

New Colors of the Show Jumping Clothes & Tack

SSO added some six new color options of the Show Jumping clothes and tack set in the Global Store.

A New Race in Greendale.

A new race called the Gentle Greendale Race was added, mainly to make earning Goldspur Reputation a little bit faster. It's still a fun race I'll be adding to my training route!

Turning Trash Into Treasure...

SSO added a fun new gathering questline involving turning recyclables into clothes, tack, and, wait a second, a cat?!? The new stuff is very Steampunk themed, which fits the idea of a questline with Big Bonny and her newest invention the H.O.R.S.E aka the Household Object Reimagining Service Extraordinaire. You'll unlock five new lore books all about Big Bonny, and let me tell ya: there's some interesting stuff in the books!
You'll find the recyclables in towns and GED Worksites. Some locations I know so far are:
Moorland: Mrs. Holdsworth's, Near the Stables, the Blacksmith and the GED Worksite up on the mountain.
Fort Pinta: Around the town and by the beach and the docks.
Silverglade: Around the Village, Northlink Worksite, Marley's, the Manor and the Oil Mining Field.
Just look around towns and "busy" areas and worksites.

Small Changes That Also Need Mentioning...

★SSO made minor changes to some of the props in the Goldenleaf Gauntlet. It's just to make the race look a bit fancier and won't affect gameplay.
★The Gen 1&2 Arabians and Gen 2 Pintabians have been moved from Goldspur Farm to Paddock Island and have been given a price reduction. The Gen 1 Arabians are now 250 SC and the Gen 2 Arabians & Pintabians are 485 SC.
★For anyone in Australia: You can now download the Star Stable Online Mobile App from the Apple App Store!

Bonus thing I need to mention: If you're a writer or looking to getting into writing, be sure to check out SSO's MasterClass videos posted on their YouTube channel! They are less than 5 minutes long each and so far there's four episodes released. In them, the author of the Soul Riders books Helena Dahlgren talks about everything you'll need to know to get into writing your own stories - from talking about building your characters to writer's block.

That's all for this month's recap.

-Ruby Skywalker ♥

New Ponies: Gotland Ponies

A few weeks ago, Star Stable welcomed the newest Pony breed to Jorvik: the Gotland Pony. Here's what we know about them.
Facts & History:
★This playful pony came from the Swedish island of Gotland where it has lived since prehistoric times.
★Herds of these Skogruss, or "little forest horses," roamed free on the island for centuries.
★Today the Gotland Pony is a sturdy breed, known as a steadfast workhorse with a mischievous streak. It is also athletic, kind, and eager to take you across the varied terrain of Jorvik. They're a very excellent exploring companion!

Where you'll find them: They're sold at South Hoof in a new pasture between the ferry dock and the farm. There's also one sold at Fort Pinta for a limited time which will be moved to South Hoof after.
Pricing: 750 SC - the normal price for Gen 3 Ponies with no special moves.
What Level: Anyone can get the one at Fort Pinta - Level 7 for the rest.
Colors: Black Pinto, Bay, Dark Bay, Black, Buckskin, and Flaxen Chestnut.

The Gotland Pony also has two mane styles available - loose and fluffy or braided with bows. It also has a thick, fluffy, cold resistant coat perfect for exploring Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur!

New Halters

New halters were added to the Global Store or the South Hoof Horse Gear Shop for all Gen 3 Horses. They are nylon halters in three pastel colors, perfect for a more playful look.

The New and Improved Horse Care System

Recently SSO made some changes to the horse care system. Here's a summary of the changes and what I think of them, as I've been using it since the update.
★Horse Care, Anywhere! - You no longer have to be by a stable to care for your horse. I really enjoy this as I can trailer to where my training route starts or the new quest is and care for my horse right then rather than having to go to a stable that's hopefully close to where I'm headed.

★No more Drag and Drop! - Now you just dismount, click your horse's head and click on the care icons. You also pet your horse and start to lead it this way. I like this way a lot, since we don't have to open our backpack and drag and drop stuff, so it definitely saves a few seconds.

★No more Smilies! Instead of the smilies in the top left next to your horse and player info, you click to open your horse info panel and there's a progress bar that gives a more detailed explanation on how much slower your horse will be at the mood it's at by clicking on the progress bar.

With this update the horse care items (hoof pick, brush, bucket, etc) got new looks.

Pandoria Portal Changes

You can now enter the portals to Pandoria on any horse, but specific quests will still ask for your starter horse.

New Star Locations

Fallen Stars have been added to the first section of Wild Woods.

New Clothing Item in the Bonus Shop.

A new item was recently put in the Bonus Shop for the Lifetime Star Riders. It's a jacket, the Embroidered Celtic Jacket. It gives +1 Jump and +4 Command stats. It's cool looking and I might use it for exploring outfits.

New Races

Two new races were added to South Hoof Farm this month - a show jumping and a Working Equitation race. You must be a star rider and have completed the quest where you talk to Hugh after repairing the South Hoof Rescue Ranch. I think the races are cool and a little challenging at first, but worth adding to your training route.

Wild Woods Changes

You now have no level requirements to unlock Wild Woods, you just have to be a Star Rider and have completed the quest where you talk to Rania after th Elections are complete, rather than also needing to be Level 16.

The Rest of Wild Woods

The rest of Wild Woods has officially opened. It's at the edge of the forest across Hartwood Lake. You'll need to be a Star Rider, have unlocked Mistfall, and have joined the Jorvik Rangers on the initial voyage into the Wild Woods.
In this new area you'll meet three wild horse herds, the Warriors, Mystics and Foresters. You'll notice that the Jorvik Wild Horses for sale in Jorvik have attributes from the herds - example: the ones with blue came from the Mystics.

There's tack and clothing in shops in the new area inspired by the three herds.

My thoughts: The questline was a lot of fun. I really like the new clothing and tack. But honestly my favorite part of the new area is the Wildlife! See if you can find the frogs, owls, deer and even a moose, and new butterflies - and I'm sure there's more I haven't seen yet!

New Redeem Codes - With a Catch

SSO recently put out three new redeem codes, but there's a catch. You can only redeem ONE. The items otherwise can be purchased from the new shops in Northern Wild Woods. Enter (in all capitals) FORESTER for the Forester hat, WARRIOR for the Warrior hat, or MYSTIC for the Mystic Beanie Hat. I chose the Mystic Beanie because I liked the colors and hope to get a descendant of the Mystics soon!

Jorvik Star Issue 10: January

 ★Jorvik Star

Issue 10January

A Note From the Writer/Editor:

Again I have failed to write every week. I am thinking I will switch to a monthly news post for now. However if there's major news updates I will post that week for sure. I am excited to see what 2021 brings for SSO. This year my goal is focusing on saving up my starcoins so getting horses will be easier and only buying clothes and tack with Jorvik Shillings. Recently I organized my storage by color also instead of by type, with the exception on holiday/seasonal, stuff I will never wear, and face accessories. I still need to organize my tack though. Without further ado, here's this month's news recap for this month.

 My Review of the Heidrun

I have been riding my Heidrun, named Gingersnap, since I got him. I really like the mane on this horse. I haven't found anything about it that I don't like.

My Thoughts on Mistfall the Series

I have only watched the first episode so far but I really enjoy it. I think it's because Skye reminds me a lot of Lisa Peterson, my favorite of the Soul Riders. I really enjoyed it so far and plan to watch the entire series.

The Newest Jorvik Rangers Quest

Recently we got a new quest in Wild Woods about the mysterious past of the Jorvik Rangers, urban folklore that only the Jorvik Rangers know about.
You begin by helping Rowan to build a campfire, and are rewarded with a fun campfire story and a Jorvik Rangers Shirt, which the shirt is fun for camping or Jorvik Rangers themed Roleplays.
*To do this quest, you must be a Star Rider, at least Level 16, and reached the Liked reputation with the Jorvik Rangers: Redwood Point and have completed the quest where you meet the New Jorvik Rangers.*

Skye Outfit Now in Shop

Be sure to check out the shop by the rangers on your way to or from Fort Pinta if you enjoy the series. You can purchase it for Jorvik Shillings or Star Coins. It will only be available until the Wednesday, March 17th Update.

More Jorvik Friesians Have Arrived!

More Jorvik Friesians have arrived in Jorvik. I have seen people riding them a lot lately, and since I hope to start my own club in the future, I need to get dressage horses soon and determine which ones I'll make for our Dressage horse/horses. With seeing it around, I'd be okay getting one in the future, but I'm focusing on saving up my Star Coins for new Magic Horses or Limited Time Horses in the future and instead saving up my Jorvik Shillings as well to buy clothes and tack I can use in outfits.

The New Working Equitation Race.

I tried out the new race, and it's definitely tricky on your first try. I restarted the race multiple times until I had the course figured out. I think it's definitely one that requires practice. I enjoy having another unique race to add to my training routine though.
